Be Still: Spiritual Practices in Community

Updated: Oct 21, 2022

A few months ago, I noticed a growing desire inside of me to gather with others for spiritual practices. My friend Lucho, with the same interest, encouraged me to begin offering opportunities to engage in contemplative practices in community.

We now offer Be Still: Spiritual Practices in Community - a beautiful experience of coming together with others, seeking to be still and listen to God, and then reflecting on what the experience was like for each of us.

Although Be Still began as an "in person" gathering, we have pivoted to an online experience. Even in the midst of a virtual setting, we engage deeply with Christ, through the Holy Spirit, and connect with one another as we reflect on our experience. There seems to be a special intimacy in engaging with God within our own sacred spaces at home, while also being in community online.

One of the benefits of meeting in community is learning new spiritual practices together. As Jesus demonstrated, we were made to live and experience God in community. The added benefit is we learn spiritual practices that we can take into our own time alone with the Lord.

I hope you'll join me for our next Be Still gathering.

For more information and to register online: Be Still - meets online the second Tuesday of each month at 7:00 pm

Through the Unexpected Grace Blog I offer encouragement to help you engage deeply with Father, Son, and Spirit. I do this by posting some of what I am learning, along with resources for your journey - such as prayer practices, articles, books, workshops, and retreats.

My hope and my prayer is to see lives lived in God's grace.
